Entrepreneur Attitude is What Matters

While we are working at growing our businesses as entrepreneurs we can get bogged down with the many times we get a “no thanks” response.  Don’t forget people matter. We are taught that the thing to do is just go to the next person because what we are offering may be just what they are looking for. Now is this easy to do? What do you say?

I say it is hard at first but it gets easier the more you do the more you can do. But that’s the thing. Can you hang in there day in and day out so that eventually you’ll get a real break through, when a real star joins your team. That takes fire in your belly and passion for what you are doing. So can you do all that and do you have the goals written down, and a  real vision of what you are working towards.  Can you see it feel it smell it in your mind ? Those goals have to be something you are thirsty for.

This may seem off beat but just to give a context of thirst for this article. Thirst is harder to handle than hunger I reckon. And it’s easier to relate to because you can just think of a desert and a wilderness with no water. And man, that can be tough on you. There you go, visualize yourself reaching your goal and relish the prize. Like finding a lake of fresh water.

Drink it up, load up and go on to reach your next goal at the next level.

Two attitudes or ways of being, that we have had suggested to us in our training are grateful-ness and forgiveness.

People matter more than some of us realise so be conscious of your grateful-ness and your capacity to forgive others. Reap the benefits of knowing yourself more so that you can achieve what you set out to do. You reap what you sow in life.

Succeed Where it Matters Most

I got this story from Word for Today  (Rhema Broadcastng Group NZ) 2 March 2014. So it’s not mine but I think it’s worth putting out. Many of you probably know it or perhaps have read it somewhere else.

The message is about focusing on the few things that you really excel at. Some of us have so many “balls in the air” that we are trying to get good at and it’s taking a long time and for a lot of us, it’s just too much. So what about just choosing say three things that we  each excel at and really going for it to turn those gifts you have into a success formula. So  that you can use those gifts you have to help  yourself and others to succeed. What you will find is that the  other balls you drop will be picked up by others who will add to the journey so that they can  succeed. So what you found hard to relinquish were the opportunities they may have been waiting for.

To relate this message to network marketing it can be a steer to form a co-op and work with others. Share  your skills and talents, share the cost and share

the rewards.

I Know it’s November

I have been AWOL since August but I have no regrets. Life has to go on whether you are  on or off the internet. Time used just, has to be meaningful and productive.  Suffice to say I have pursued jobs that matter and I will continue to do that, as well as blogging and network marketing. Ce’st la vie.

Relevant Books for Today’s Entrepreneurs

Happy Easter to you. The lead up to Easter has been hectic. Why? Because I’m reading two great books to improve my blog writing and extend my limited knowledge.  My No.1  book is The Six Immutable Laws of Mobile Business and the second book I’m reading is The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid.

I  wish some of you would read those two books so that I could discuss  them with you in my blog or in a hang out on Google + That would be awesome.

Each of the books are relevant for todays network marketers because the mobile phone business with Smartphone and Iphone have proved themselves to be indispensable, I believe.  The No. 1 book states that in 2007 half of the world population owned mobile phones. That includes people from the lowest income strata in the world. The Six Immutable Laws of Mobile Business shows that if people want something enough they will get it. But think what that means in terms of a market size. The authors are Philip Sugai, Marco Koeder, and Ludovico Ciferri.

The  Fortune is at the Bottom of the Pyramid described in the second  book is the 4th tier of a conceptual pyramid sectioned into 4 tiers according to the income levels of people across the world.

Consider how many people  in the world earn the equivalent of US $1500 a year.  The figure stated in The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid is that there are  4 billion. They are in the 4th tier  (the bottom) of the pyramid.  Two Multi National Corporations (MNC’s)  with bases in India are

providing for that market,  selling cleaning agents. They have “cracked the code ” (my terminology) by finding out the acceptable  size and  price of a product is in the range of purchase for low-income people to buy them.  An example of what is selling well in India is one unit of detergent in a small package. When they hit the market they sold as fast as the news got around that they were available. In India low income people wash their clothes in rivers and streams. In the past they had no detergent because the units for sale were out of their price range. That has changed.

My interest in both of the books mentioned here is about people’s needs and how those needs can be met. The authors of The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid are C. K. Prahalad and Stuart L. Hart. Their view is that MNC’s will have to seriously consider the market in the 4th tier of the pyramid because of the size of it. The authors cite that the divide between rich and poor must change to avoid  some future disaster.  So that eventually the poverty-stricken can get access to the means to live  a better quality of life with their own efforts, not by charity. Their dignity has to be sustained for it to work.

China has become a very powerful nation in the last decade or more. Where in the past most of the people lived in rural areas and farmed the land about 80% or more of the people are now urban dwellers. Their standard of living has improved.

World leaders must implement ways to provide for changes in the lives of those who are in the 4th tier. Maybe our new Pope Francis the 1st will help to influence that change.
