What I Heard About Motivation

Today I listened to an audio session between Daegan Smith and Cedrik Harris. With regard to approaching people to make a sale when selling mortgages, Cedrik talked about “falling in love with moving words” In order to get traction and motivate a positive response from a prospect Cedrik decided to, in his minds eye, focus on the colour of the cheque that the prospect would put forward to pay the deposit. For him this practice worked! So the moral of that story is focus on the end result that you want in your own mind. Hang on to it.
Another practice or method of approach that he was given by one of his bosses was, that he was to go out every day and get 50 “no” answers from prospects. Cedrik said it was impossible to do that and when the yes’s came they just flowed.
